Floating Vanity — VO-900 (Vanity Open)

$1,320.00

A wall-mounted floating vanity defined by clean geometry and open structure. The exposed lower shelf and integrated brass hanging rail introduce both function and material contrast, allowing the piece to feel light while remaining substantial.

Designed to balance warmth and utility, the solid timber frame anchors the space, while the open configuration keeps the overall form minimal and architectural. The brass rail provides practical towel storage and a refined detailing element that elevates the piece beyond standard vanity forms.

Crafted from solid ironbark and finished with a natural hardwax oil, the vanity is built for durability and designed to age gracefully over time.

Sink not included.

CARE & MAINTENANCE GUIDE

This guide outlines the recommended care for Kinship Customs products made from solid timber, timber veneers, and unlacquered brass and copper. Following these guidelines will help ensure longevity, performance, and natural ageing of your product.

1. Understanding Natural Materials

Kinship Customs products are crafted using natural materials. These materials are intentionally selected for their character and ability to age over time.

Solid timber, brass, and copper will change in appearance as they respond to light, moisture, temperature, and use. These changes are normal and form part of the design intent.

2. Timber & Timber Veneer Care

Timber is a living material and will naturally respond to its environment.

What to Expect:

- Expansion and contraction with changes in humidity and temperature

- Minor movement, cupping, bowing, or fine surface checking

- Variation in grain and colour between components

- Gradual colour change over time, especially with sun exposure

Daily & Routine Care:

- Wipe surfaces with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth

- Clean spills immediately

- Avoid prolonged contact with water or moisture

Avoid:

- Harsh or abrasive cleaners

- Silicone-based sprays or polishes

- Steam cleaners or excessive water

Sunlight & UV Exposure:

Prolonged exposure to direct or indirect sunlight may cause timber to lighten, darken, or change tone. Items such as books, lamps, or décor left on timber surfaces for extended periods may result in uneven colour change. This is a natural process and not a fault.

3. Brass & Copper Care (Unlacquered)

Kinship Customs brass and copper products are supplied unlacquered and untreated to allow natural patina development.

What to Expect:

- Darkening and tonal variation over time

- Mottling and uneven patina development

- Fingerprint marks and water spotting

Daily & Routine Care:

- Rinse with clean water after use where applicable

- Dry with a soft cloth to minimise water spotting

Cleaning:

- Use warm water and a mild, pH-neutral soap only

- Use soft cloths or non-abrasive sponges

Avoid:

- Abrasive pads or scourers

- Chemical cleaners, bleach, or ammonia

- Vinegar, lemon, citric acid, or acidic products

Polishing (Optional):

Polishing is not required. If a brighter finish is desired, use a gentle metal polish suitable for brass or copper. Polishing will remove patina and the ageing process will recommence afterward.

4. Laminex & Manufactured Surfaces (If Applicable)

Where Laminex or similar manufactured surfaces are supplied, care is minimal:

- Wipe with a soft cloth and mild detergent

- Avoid abrasive cleaners and sharp impacts

5. General Care Notes

- Always use coasters, trivets, and protective pads where appropriate

- Avoid placing hot items directly on surfaces

- Maintain a stable indoor environment where possible

6. Not Considered a Fault

The following are not considered defects:

- Natural timber movement or colour change

- Patina and ageing of brass and copper- Surface wear consistent with normal use

Following this guide will help ensure your Kinship Customs product ages beautifully and performs as intended.
